Mark Knopfler enlists well-known pals for his latest album.

A special version of Mark Knopfler’s song “Going Home (Theme From Local Hero)” is now out. It’s raising money for charities that help teenagers with cancer in the UK and America. Famous musicians like Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, and David Gilmour have contributed to this nearly 10-minute long song. Roger Daltrey from The Who and Pete Townshend also helped with the charity. The song was produced by Guy Fletcher, and the artwork was done by Sir Peter Blake. It took more than a year to make this song with all the contributions from different artists.

Mark Knopfler said that making this song was amazing. Musicians like Jeff Beck and David Gilmour recorded their parts. Sadly, Jeff Beck passed away in January 2023, but his contribution remains a part of the song.

You can listen to the song on music streaming platforms and buy it on CD. Additionally, Mark Knopfler is releasing a new album called “One Deep River” on April 12th.
