Steve Perry, former lead singer of JOURNEY, has teamed up with THE EFFECT, featuring Trevor Lukather, Nic Collins, and Steve Maggiora, to release a revamped version of JOURNEY’s song “It Could Have Been You.”
Perry announced the collaboration on social media, expressing his admiration for the track and his excitement to work with THE EFFECT. Trevor Lukather also shared his enthusiasm, highlighting Perry’s mentorship and the joy of collaborating with him. The project received praise from Jonathan Cain, co-writer of the song. This collaboration follows Perry’s successful return to music with his solo album “Traces” in 2018, which garnered acclaim and marked his highest solo chart debut.
