Simply put: this looks amazing. A brand new game from Reef Entertainment seeks to be the game we never got in the 90’s when Terminator 2: Judgement Day came out. Going by this trailer alone, I think they nailed it. I would have sunk a significant supply of quarters into this game at the arcade – unlocking all the secret power-ups and cracking every alternate ending.

As major AAA game studios continue to push the boundaries of graphical fidelity and hardware limitation we’ve reached a sort of plateau of visual amazingness. It’s interesting when a game arrives that has a very different approach – gameplay first and visuals that back it up. Instead of moving mountains to make a game look photo-realistic, leaning into a retro style and doing it well.

For a franchise obsessed with going back in time, this looks like a very cool time warp – and it’s going on the wishlist immediately.
