Research shows that cuddling with your pet, especially dogs is good for you. And if you’re like “Oh which weird university conducted that study”? It was actually done by the University of British Columbia Okanagan. A Canadian study for once! Wow!
Cuddling reduces stress hormones like cortisol, lowers blood pressure, and increases the “love hormone” oxytocin, leading to positive effects on mood and stress levels. The only thing is, and maybe it was just my dog, (RIP Lucee), but you pretty much had to force them to cuddle with you. She never wanted to cuddle with me when I wanted her to. You have to get up in 10 minutes to pick your kid up from school? Cuddle time. You need to get up and get supper ready? Cuddle time. Never convenient, but always loved. Go cuddle your dog!
It’s actually International Cuddle / Bond with Your Dog Day…for real!
