Community garage sales are the Olympics of organized chaos—where one man’s trash is another man’s slightly dusty treasure right!? The whole neighbourhood getting together to share those “treasures”. You’ll spot someone proudly walking away with a fondue set from 1984, convinced it’s making a comeback, while a kid tries to sell rocks he found in the backyard. Every driveway becomes a mini museum of questionable decisions: glow-in-the-dark garden frogs, exercise equipment that’s never been sweated on, and puzzles that are probably missing a piece or two.
The real fun, though, is in the bargaining. People will haggle like their lives DEPEND on it, just to save 50 cents, acting like it’s a high-stakes negotiation. By noon, no one knows what time it is, but somehow everyone has a new lamp, a box of mismatched Tupperware, and a story that ends with, “You won’t believe what I found for only .25 cents!”
