Buckle up, Saskatoon… literally! The 2025 traffic data is officially in, and the numbers are a bit of a bumpy ride. According to the Saskatoon Police Traffic Unit, collisions saw a 10% jump last year, totaling 5,193 incidents.
The most eye-opening stat? School zone speeding tickets skyrocketed from 45 to 177 year-over-year. Seatbelt violations were also on the rise, hitting 811 tickets. It’s not all bad news, though! Distracted driving numbers dropped for the second year in a row, with 1,693 charges laid.
In total, police handed out over 15,000 tickets in 2025. It’s a good reminder for all of us to slow down and stay focused. Let’s try to keep those numbers trending downward for 2026.
