We finally have an update on the semi-truck that tried to take an excavator on a shortcut—only to find the overpass wasn’t budging.
Charges have officially been laid against the operator, ranging from exceeding height restrictions to driving without due care. While the city works hard on repairs (set to begin March 17th), the good news is that accountability is in motion!
City officials aren’t letting this one slide, calling out the “blockhead” move and pursuing all legal avenues to cover the $400,000 repair bill. It’s a great reminder for all of us: always double-check your height, whether you’re hauling heavy machinery or just a tall ego!
Stay safe, stay patient, and let’s keep those bridges scratch-free, Saskatoon!
