Well, surprise: the 2026 Doomsday Clock is now at 85 seconds to midnight. That’s four seconds closer than last year and the nearest we’ve ever been to total wipeout. Nuclear threats, climate mess, AI going rogue… same old laundry list.
The experts are basically shrugging and saying world leaders aren’t doing squat to fix any of it. Shocker, right? The clock’s been ticking toward doom since 1947, and here we are.
For the uninitiated, midnight means humanity’s donezo.
The worst part is there’s not much the average person can do about it. Vote? Recycle? Yell at the sky? Whatever makes you feel better, I guess?
Fun times. Anyone got popcorn?
